All foreign national are requested to take your Inner Line Permits for restricted areas such as Nubra Valley / Khardungla pass / Pangong Lake / Zanskar / Da Hanu Village / Tso Moriri and Tso Kar Lakes. Chinese and Pakistani Nationals need to take the Inner Line Permits from Ministry of External Affairs New Delhi in advance. This may take nearly a month or more. While as other nationals can obtain the permits from DC office in Leh or any valid / authorized travel agent in Leh. We Leh Ladakh Tourism Tours and Travel are an authorized agent to obtain the permits.
Inner Line Permit, or ILP, is a travel document issued by the Government of India which allows an Indian and foreigner travelers to travel to a protected area for a limited time period. Obtaining this permit is mandatory for all the citizens who do not belong to Jammu and Kashmir State. Foreigners visiting Ladakh are required to obtain Ladakh Protected Area Permit (PAP) before entering this region. The Inner Line Permit, or ILP, is valid for a period of 3 weeks for Indians, and 1 week for foreigners. It should also be remembered that there is no limit on the number of times you visit a place within the valid period as long as you have the necessary permits with you.
Please noted that the Inner line Permit is not required for visiting all the areas. In fact, it is only required for some areas like Nubra valley, Khardung La, Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri, Dah, Hanu Villages, Man, Merak, Nyoma, Loma Bend, Turtuk, Tyakshi, Chusul, Hanle, Digger La, Tangyar (for trekking only).
